Firecracker Fizz

Equipment

  • Collins glass
  • Spoon

Ingredients
  

Red layer

  • 1 ounce strawberry purée (fresh or store-bought)
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup

White layer

  • 1 ounce silver rum for less sweetness
  • 1 ounce coconut water
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice

Blue layer

  • 1/2 ounce blue curaçao
  • 2 ounce lemon-lime soda or sparkling water

Instructions
 

  • Prepare a tall clear glass (Collins or hurricane works best).
  • Optional: Rim the glass with lime and dip in white sugar for sparkle.
  • Red Layer: Add the strawberry purée, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Fill the glass ⅓ with crushed ice.
  • White Layer: Slowly pour the coconut rum and coconut water mix over the back of a spoon to gently layer on top. Add more crushed ice to bring it up to ⅔ full.
  • Blue Layer: Mix the blue curaçao and lemon-lime soda, then carefully float it over the spoon on top of the white layer.
  • Garnish: Top with the red-white-blue fruit skewer.
