The Alabama Ash Cocktail Is The Perfect Pairing To Watch Patricia Arquette In True Romance

The Alabama Ash is what happens when a classic whiskey drink grows up, gets a little reckless, and stops apologizing for it. Built on a split base of bourbon and mezcal, it hits you with warm vanilla-caramel comfort first, then lets that smoky, desert-fire edge creep in like trouble you absolutely invited over. It’s smooth, dark, and just sweet enough to feel romantic, but the finish has teeth, which makes it perfect for nights when “love story” and “crime spree” are basically the same plan.

Tagline: Sweet devotion with smoke at the edges.
Skill level: Medium (split base, smoked notes, stirred)

With a split base, it's stirred, sweet devotion with smoke notes at the edges. Not too hard to make and easy to enjoy while watching a dangerous romantic action movie with that special "friend."

Notes

Why it works

Bourbon is the romance. Mezcal is the gun under the table. Sweet vermouth makes it noir-smooth, and a touch of maple gives a dark sweetness that plays beautifully with smoke. It’s bold, adult, and absolutely has swagger.
