Green Fizz Mocktail

Proof that a spring mocktail can be light, crisp, and easy to make without being dull as hell. It has freshness, personality, and just enough style to earn a place in the lineup.

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker
  • muddler (or wooden spoon handle)
  • Jigger (or measuring spoon)
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Collins or rocks glass
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Bar Spoon

Ingredients

  • 4-5 Grapes
  • 3 slices Cucumber
  • 3/4 ounce Fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce Simple syrup
  • 2 ounces Cold water
  • 2-3 ounces Soda water
  • Ice
  • Cucumber ribbon, lime wheel or basil sprig optional garnishes

Instructions

  • Add the green grapes, cucumber slices, and basil leaves to a cocktail shaker.
  • Gently muddle until the grapes release their juice and the cucumber and basil become fragrant. Do not go feral on it.
  • Add the lime juice, simple syrup, and cold water.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  • Double strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with soda water and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a cucumber ribbon, lime wheel, or basil sprig.

Notes

Why It Works

The grape is the quiet little assassin here. It softens the sharper edge of the lime and ties the cucumber and basil together without making the drink noticeably “grapey.” That matters, because what you want is a mocktail that tastes green and alive, not like produce drawer roulette. The cucumber brings coolness, the basil adds aromatic lift, and the lime gives the whole thing structure.
It also works because it feels genuinely seasonal. Spring drinks should have energy. They should wake the palate up a little. The Green Fizz Mocktail does exactly that while still staying easygoing enough to sip through an entire movie without getting tired of it.
