Last Weekend in Review – Pixar Takes the Crown
Last weekend finally delivered a breakout moment for an original film.
Hoppers jumped to the top of the box office with a $45M opening, Pixar’s strongest debut for an original animated film in years. The film’s offbeat premise and strong reviews helped it stand out in a crowded family marketplace and could give it real legs heading into spring.

The takeaway: the box office is currently being driven by one big family hit and one major horror franchise which leaves the door open for something new to surprise audiences.

Undertone (Wide Release)
The only true wide opener this weekend is the horror-thriller Undertone. Starring Nina Kiri and Adam DiMarco, the film mixes psychological horror with sci-fi elements and arrives in a marketplace where genre films have been performing reliably.
If horror fans are still energized from Scream 7, Undertone could sneak into the top five.

Reminders of Him
